How to Reach
Air : The nearest aiport is Gaggal in
Kangra Valley(136km) and very few flights operate from herew. The aiport
is connects domestic flights to Delhi so foreigners have to get connection
through Delhi Airport which is connected to all major cities in India.
From Gaggal airport one can hire a taxi or travel by bus to reach Chamba.
Rail : Chakki Bank in Pathankot (104km)
is the nearest railhead which is well connected to Amritsar, Kolkata,
Mumbai and Delhi. One can get regular buses from Pathankot to Chamba.
Alternatively you may hire a taxi to reach Chamba. The nearest narrow
gauge head is Jogindernagar.
Road : Chamba is a long drive from
everywhere, but is served by good roads. After Pathankot, one can enjoy
beautiful drive through the hills. Regular bus services are available
from Chamba to Dalhousie (56 km) and also to the nearby cities. |
