How to reach:

Air: Nearest airport is Jolly Grant, Dehradun (196 km). And Delhi is the nearest International airport (495km). Dehradun is connected to Delhi airport. 

Rail: Nearest railhead is at Rishikesh (214 kms) and the nearest railway station is at Dehradun(172 km). This station is connected to all major cities in India. 

Road:  Yamunotri is well connected to many cities by buses from Hanuman Chatti. Private and public buses offer services from Hanuman Chatti to Rishikesh (213 km) and Dehradun (172 km).

Getting to Yamunotri

Janki Chatti is the last stop on the road which is 5 km from Yamunotri and 10 kms far from Hanuman Chatti. From Hanuman Chatti one can hire taxi or Jeeps. During bad weather buses are not able to drive. During these times, shared taxis and jeeps are available up to Janki Chatti. Sayana Chatti has a bus stand which is 13 km away from Janki Chatti. From Janki Chatti one need to trek to reach Yamunotri. One can hire ponies (Rs 430), or on palanquins carried by four men (Rs 1,200). Porters charge Rs 500-800 for children and luggage. On a pony, it takes 2 ½ hrs to reach Yamunotri.
