How to get there:
Auroville is located 10 kms north of Pondicherry, which
is accessible by bus (from Chennai, Tiruvannamalai, Bengalaru, Chidambaram,
Ooty. There are frequent buses from Chennai's bus stand in Koyembedu to
Puducherry. Puducherry is well connected to all districts and major towns
of various states like Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andra Pradesh.

Air: If traveling from abroad, one can
fly to the nearest airport Chennai (135km) on one of several airlines.
Chennai has excellent connections with almost all cities in India and
direction connection to Europe, USA, Middle East and South East Asia.
Rail: The nearest railway station is at Villupuram (32 km) which
is well connected to Chennai, Madurai and Trichy. To reach Puducherry
by train, one must first travel to Villupuram on the Chennai- Rameshwaram
line and from there switch to the daily passenger train to Puducherry.
