The fort is located inside the park. Two roads, the Umaria - Rewa Highway and the Parasi - Katni Road via Khitauli, pass through the Bandhavgarh National Park. Entrance to Bandhavgarh Park is from Tala, a small village on the Umaria-Rewa highway. There are State and Private buses to Tala from Umaria (32 km), Amarpatan (80 km), Shahdol(102 km), Rewa(105 km), Jabalpur (200 km.) and Khajuraho (310 kms).
