To reach Leh,

Leh, the capital of Ladakh, is reached in two days by bus from Srinagar via the Srinagar - Leh Road. The curving mountainous road passes through Sonamarg, the Zojila pass (8,413 m) and the Drass valley (the coldest inhabited region in the world, after Siberia), culminating in a night's halt at Kargil. Leh is reached on the second day.

Air: There are direct flights from Delhi, Srinagar and Jammu.

Rail: The nearest railway station is Kalka.

Road: Distance from Chandigarh to Leh via Manali is 800 km. Distance from Srinagar to Leh is 432 km. State transport buses also ply on the Srinagar-Leh route.
