How to reach

Padmanabhapuram lies 55 km south-west of Thiruvananthapuram( a two-and-a-half hour drive), the capital of Kerala  state. The palace is a distance of One km from Thuckalay on the way on Thuckalay-Kulasekharam/Thripparappu route. 

Air : Nearest airport is Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, 6 km from Thiruvananthapuram city. Air India operates flights to Gulf, Europe, USA, Srilanka, Maldives etc. Indian Airlines flies to the city from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai (Madras), Bangalore and Cochin. Rail: The nearest railway station is at Nagercoil (15km) and local station is Iraniel (6km) from the palace. Another station is at Thiruvananthapuram, an important railway terminus with connections from all parts of the country. Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station, Enquiry 131; Reservation 132.

Road: From Thirvananthapuram (or Kovalam Beach) or take one of the daily Kanyakumari tours organised by KTDC (Kerala Tourism Development Corporation). Frequent buses run from Thiruvananthapuram's Thampanoor bus stand for Padmanabhampuram, on the highway to Kanyakumari. Best way is to board any bus for Nagercoil or Kanyakumari and alight at Thuckalay. You could also hire a cab from Thiruvananthapuram.
