Science Centre is an amazing multi-facility complex located in Surat city of Gujarat State. Established in 29 November 2009, it houses a Science Centre, museum, an art gallery, an auditorium, an amphi-theatre and a planetarium. Built at the cost of INR 44.24 crores, this Science Centre is the first of its type in western India. It covers a total area of 21,800 sq. m. It has the underground parking facility for 112 four-wheelers(Fee: Rs.10/-) and 210 two-wheelers (Fee: Rs.5/-). The complex also houses a rooftop solar power plant which generates around 1.14 KW of power. The complex also includes a restaurant. Science Centre Sardar Patel Museum A visit to Sardar Patel Myseum will bring forth the dormant history of Surat. It has been visited by a large number of students come from various school, colleges, educational institutions to know the cultural heritage of the city. The museum is opened from 11.45a.m - 1.45p.m and 2. 45a.m. to 5. 45p.m from Wednesdays to Saturdays and on Sundays and Tuesdays it is opened from 2. 45a.m to 5.45p.m. It remains closed on Monday and public holidays. Amphi-Theatre Planetarium Situated on the ground floor, the Planetarium is built in the shape of a sphere 16.30 m in diameter. It has a digital theatr which has the facilitates the observation of stars, moon, planets and other heavenly bodies which are displayed on the full dome. High resolution projectors which use Digester 3 technology with digital audio system are used. Shows are conducted in three languages- Hindi, Gujarati and English. Fee: Rs.15 for adult and Rs.10 for kids. Art Gallery Auditorium Timings: All days of the week 10:30 AM - 7:30 PM. Entry Fee: Rs.20/-for adults Rs.10/- for child and Rs.5/- for school chilren. | ||
