MAIN HOW TO REACH HOTELS CONTACTS

Yelagiri is a peaceful and unexplored hill station in Tamil Nadu. Located midway between Chennai and Bangalore it is also known as the 'Poor Man's Ooty'. Populated by tribals, the Yelagiri hills are still relatively isolated. Previously, the scenic Yelagiri didn't have much to draw tourists except the boating experience in the stream and lake at the foothills. But nowadays, Yelagiri has many attractions for tourists and the latest addition is paragliding.

Situated at a height of 920m above sea level, Yelagiri is a cluster of small villages, spread over four hills. Located in the Jawadh Hill ranges of the Eastern Ghats in Vellore District, Yelagiri is surrounded by orchards, rose-gardens and green valleys.

Besides having all the features of a pleasant hill resort, well-connected roads, easy access of transportation etc also makes Yelagri a good tourist destination. Yelagiri is near both to Chennai and Bangalore. The 14 hairpin bends up to the top gives superb views.

The hill also attracts thousands of people during the annual Summer Festival.

Yelagiri Hills has developed as an ideal destination for adventure sports lovers, especially paragliders and trekkers. Some of the trekking places are from Mangalam to Swamimalai (it is a 2-3 hr trek) and from near Athvanur bus stand to the sunset point in the evenings. The Yelagiri Adventure Sports Association (YASA) promotes paragliding, rock climbing, trekking, cycling at Yelagiri hill station. Contact :
